4Culture offices closed September 3rd

In celebration of Labor Day, 4Culture will take the day off on Monday. Many people think of the long weekend as the last burst of summer, but this year take a minute and celebrate the workers who make life better for all of us. All of King County’s staff – in Roads, Wastewater Treatment, Solid Waste, our County government folks, those who work in health services, facilities maintenance, our courts and so many more areas of service. A tip of the cap to the business owners and bus drivers, the mounted policemen who help patrol Pioneer Square near our offices, the barista who pulls your espresso, the cooks in restaurants and the farmers in Pike Place Market. Cheers to the innovators who make this place their home, devising the future out of the present online, in business and in our communities.

Remember too, that artists, performers, museum staff, plaster restorers, house painters, education specialists, photographers, gallery directors, writers, media designers and art fabricators are all workers too. We are so proud to support the work they do through our programs in Arts, Heritage, Preservation and Public Art. We are looking ahead to the fall when we will have a whole new season of wonderful courtesy of the cultural community in King County.

But for now – have a terrific Labor Day weekend!
