April is National Poetry Month!

Join Kevin Craft for a short reading of new poems along with a discussion about the book-making process, as it pertains to poetry. Craft, editor of Poetry NW, the region’s oldest literary review (founded 1959), will also discuss the editorial process and what it takes to get into the magazine.

Kevin will also share some of his work on April 10th at 7 pm, during the Rockit Space monthly poetry reading that take place at The Station cafe on Beacon Hill,  2533 16th Ave South (just 1/2 block North of the Beacon Hill Light Rail Station). This event is free and open to the public.

I Wasn’t Strong Like This When I Started Out: True Stories of Becoming a Nurse

For those of you who are interested in narrative advocacy from a nursing perspective, you’ll want to attend this presentation. Writer Josephine Ensign is working with Lisa Oberg and Joanne Rich of the University of Washington Health Sciences library to host a nurse writer panel discussion and reading. Ensign will be there along with some other authors/contributors to the anthology I Wasn’t Strong Like This When I Started Out: True Stories of Becoming a Nurse.
