Community Arts Initiative

Arts at the Center of Community Life
Developing The Arts In Underserved King County

Underserved communities are defined as areas of King County that are not represented by a Local Arts Agency, or specific ethnic, cultural, or geographic communities that experience a lack of resources and programming. In many cases, community arts funding serves as seed money and helps to leverage additional funding from a variety of sources.

Organizations eligible for the Arts Sustained Support Program are not eligible for the Community Arts Initiative program.

Eligible applicants to the Community Arts Initiative may include, but are not limited to: libraries, community councils, community centers, parks, and non-profit organizations involved in the presentation of public concerts, performances, festivals, workshops and arts-related stand-alone events or in conjunction with other community activities.
