Operating Expenses
Operational support is critical to a healthy cultural ecology. Operations, rent, salaries, marketing costs and utilities are among the routine expenses incurred to deliver cultural programs. The Sustained Support program supports the overall mission of an organization through funds provided for annual program operating expenses.
The Arts Sustained Support Program provides annual funding to arts organizations with a history of bringing arts opportunities to King County residents. In order to promote a healthy and diverse arts community, the Arts Sustained Support program funds a broad range of arts organizations and local arts agencies representing various arts disciplines, geographic areas, sizes and levels of organizational development.
Quick Facts
- Currently funds 187 organizations with more than $1.1 million in support
- King County-based non-profit arts organizations, arts service organizations, and local arts agencies with at least a three-year history of annual programming are eligible to apply
- Organizations apply in odd-numbered years, and receive awards for two years of support
- Funds can be used for annual operating expenses; funds cannot be used for fundraising or capital expenses
- Local Arts Agencies (ARTS COMMISSIONS ONLY) should refer to the LAA specific guidelines and application
