Heritage 4Culture offers free technical documents and in-person consultation on a wide range of challenges facing today’s heritage organizations, including program and exhibit development, fundraising, and training. Program staff also link community heritage groups and individuals to a national network of experts in the heritage field.
Technical Support
The Heritage Program provides technical assistance services in support of public benefit heritage activities for heritage organizations and agencies in King County, subject to staff availability. In addition to support for Heritage Grant Program applicants and contractors, the following services are provided:
- Limited planning and training assistance for governing boards and staffs of non-profit heritage organizations
- Development of cooperative agreements and contracts between municipalities and local historical organizations for financial and in-kind support of heritage activities, and
- Support for major heritage events and commemorations

Publications
Technical papers answer frequently asked questions about a wide range of complex issues affecting all heritage organizations.
- Education Papers—Supports applicants to the Heritage Cultural Education program, as well as other educational programs and activities relating to King County history and heritage.

- Historical Papers—Includes studies, bibliographies, chronologies and resource guides for exploring significant aspects of King County's rich geographic ethnic and thematic history and heritage

- Technical Papers—Assists cultural organizations and agencies, governing board members, professional staff, volunteers, and grant recipients to locate and access a wide variety of resources and opportunities, adopt professional standards and best practices, and produce high-quality programs and projects for the public.
