a play: cambodian youth

Fall City-based artist, Don Fels received a 4Culture Individual Artist Project award for a project that has resulted in a partnership and play with playwright, Mark Jenkins. Red Earth, Gold Gate, Shadow Sky is about returnees — Cambodian youth who grew up in the United States but were deported back to Cambodia after serving time in American prisons. Jenkins is proud of the fact that he, Don Fels and the play’s director, Victor Pappas developed a strong relationship with members from the the Cambodian community in King County. The public is welcome to attend performances at the University of Washington’s Hutchinson Hall, and High Point, a Neighborhood House facility, where many Cambodians reside. A $5 donation is suggested.
