4Culture and King County’s Department of Natural Resources and Parks hosted a Field Day Celebration at the Chinook Bend Natural Area in Carnation last weekend. The fifty-nine acres of open space boasts recreational access improvements and ecological enhancements: an open water wetland, over 15,000 native trees and shrubs planted by volunteers, and a series of restoration projects to encourage natural processes to carve and create the site. Betsy Damon was on hand to talk about her newly installed public artwork, Homage to Living Systems, which honors the increasing bio-dynamism of the area.
