Regional Arts & Culture Council
RFQ: Albina Library Sculpture Series
- Deadline:
- Budget: $125,000
Eligibility: Open to artists or artist teams from Oregon and Washington
The Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC), in partnership with Multnomah County Library are excited to announce a new call for artists at the soon-to-be-renovated Albina Library. We are seeking artists or artist teams from Oregon and Washington to submit qualifications for creating a series of site-specific, sculptural, exterior artworks.
As the Albina Library undergoes renovation and expansion, including a 30,000 sq.ft. addition, we are committed to integrating art that reflects the library’s history and its connection to the community, particularly honoring the narratives of Portland’s African American, Black and Indigenous communities. One artist or artist team will be selected to create mid-scale sculptures that will become new landmarks for visitors approaching and entering the library from NE Russell Street.
We invite you to join an information session on December 4, 2023, at 6:00pm PDT, to learn more about the project and submission process. Submissions will be accepted until December 18, 2023.
