The Northwest Railway Museum is seeking a dynamic Educator with a high level of creativity, thoughtfulness, & flexibility. Our curriculum reaches many diverse students of all ages in our region & the Educator must be responsive & relevant to all students. Successful candidate will be subject to a background investigation, credit check, vaccine verification and a written composition exercise. Preference given to applicants with prior living history and/or museum experience.

The workweek is Tues-Sat or Sun-Thurs & will include some full-weekends and holidays during special events. Educator will be based primarily out of the Museum’s Railway Education Center, but may work off-site.

Duties will include but are not limited to:
• Presenting railway education & outreach programs at on & off-site venues as described on the Museum menu of programs. Training is provided
• Prep & clean-up of materials for programs
• Driving to outreach sites across King & parts of Snohomish County. Our office is located in Snoqualmie, WA.
• Working within a budget
• Working closely with the senior staff
• Other duties as assigned

Eligibility
The educator will be a self-starter, experience working with children, especially in the non-profit world, have customer service experience, and ideally possess a teaching certificate or equivalent. They will manage the education program. The successful candidate will work well in a team environment; have working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft office, basic graphic design programs and Past Perfect, and have excellent writing, reading, and interpersonal skills.
