Call for Residencies 2021-2022
Inscape is a diverse community of artists located in the International District neighborhood of Seattle. Now in its third year, the artist-in-residency program provides much-needed studio and project space for artists to create their own work within the setting of the historic, former immigration building.
For the 2021-2022 residency cycle, three residencies will be awarded to artists or artist groups who submit thoughtful, compelling, and relevant applications that consist of high-quality work. All mediums are welcome. Prior awardees have included artists engaged in visual art, dance, writing and social practice.
The selection committee puts a high value on applications that demonstrate engagement with the Inscape artist community, building history and/or the CID neighborhood. Persons of color, women, and traditionally underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
– The residency is open to all artists by application.
– Artists are required to work onsite for a minimum of 10 hours a week for the duration of the residency period.
– Artists are responsible for their own materials.
– Artists must be over the age of 18 and not currently enrolled in a degree program.
All visual art media is accepted. Please note that there is limited ventilation in the studio, so strong solvents are not allowed.
