Public Art Call for Expressions of Interest: North Harbour, North Vancouver, BC
- Deadline:
- Budget: $350,000 CA
Eligibility: The selection process is a two-stage open call to local, regional, Canadian and International professional artists or artist teams with a voting selection panel. In stage one of the selection process, artists will submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for consideration by the selection panel.
Concert Properties, in coordination with the City of North Vancouver’s Developer Public Art Program, is inviting Expressions of Interest from Canadian and US professional artists and artist teams to create original site-specific public artwork associated with this new development project to be built in a new park/plaza that faces Vancouver’s Burrard Inlet in North Vancouver.
The project is situated on the north edge of Vancouver’s Burrard Inlet, with spectacular views of downtown Vancouver directly across the water. Fell Plaza will be part of a linear park adjacent to the waterfront. The artwork created for this location will be highly visible from both land and inlet, with multiple engagement opportunities for a diverse array of audiences, including residents and visitors enjoying the park, along with marine enthusiasts using one of the two nearby marinas.
The public art opportunity for the Fell Avenue Plaza is envisioned as a signature sculptural artwork. An artist may consider a wide range of possibilities in approach, media, and 3-dimensional form to activate the space.
