Temporary Library Specialist
Reports to: Library Collections Manager
Location: MOHAI Resource Center at Georgetown
Classification: Temporary, Non-Exempt, Part-time
Compensation: $18.00 per hour
Schedule: Weekdays, 20-22.5 hours per week
Employment Period: June – September, 2019 (start date flexible – 250 hours total)
The Temporary Library Specialist will participate in a 250 hour 4Culture project to inventory MOHAI’s Sophie Frye Bass Library’s Oral History Collection, including completing a condition assessment, digitization priority list, and entering item level descriptions into the Library’s collection management system. This position is available as a temporary position or as an internship for a current library science graduate student. The Temporary Library Specialist position reports to the Library Collections Manager and is a member of the Curatorial Services department.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent museum work experience. Position suitable for current information sciences student or recent graduate.
• Previous experience with audio visual collections required; inventorying a variety of audio visual media types preferred.
• Experience with analyzing materials for their content and assessing them based on pre-determined criteria.
