This just in: Heritage Preservation recently came out with an updated Emergency Response and Salvage Wheel mobile App, which is available for free for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad devices. Long known as an quick and useful guide for emergencies by museums, libraries, and archives around the world, the ‘Wheel’ was developed to give practical advice for saving collections in the first 48 hours after disaster strikes. The new “ERS: Emergency Response and Salvage” app provides the same useful content, outlining critical stages of disaster response and providing practical salvage tips for nine types of collections. The ERS app provides users with valuable information on protecting precious collections and significant records, accessing reliable information instantly, and saving damaged objects. The app was created in partnership with the National Center for Preservation Technology and Training. Heritage Preservation is a national non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of the United States.
