This year, for the first time, 4Culture is excited to offer stipends of $250 each to King County heritage museum staff, volunteers, and board members attending the Washington Museum Association Conference in Ellensburg. The 2013 Conference, Museums at the Center of Community: Representative, Reflective and Relevant, will take place June 12th – 14th. Stipends may be used for conference registration, and to defray travel and lodging costs. To receive the stipend, qualifying individuals must attend the conference and be prepared to write a short report of their experience.
To be eligible for a 4Culture stipend, a prospective recipient must reside in King County; be a staff member, or volunteer, or board member of a heritage museum in King County; and otherwise be unable to attend the conference because of financial constraints. An individual requesting a stipend must submit a letter of interest detailing his or her status with a King County heritage museum, his or her reasons for attending the WMA conference, and his or her reasons for desiring a stipend. Letters of interest should be sent to:
Attn: Eric Taylor
101 Prefontaine Place S.
Seattle, WA 98104
To be considered, letters of interest should arrive at 4Culture no later than April 17, 2013, and should contain the individual’s contact information, including daytime phone number, mailing and e-mail addresses. For further information, contact Eric Taylor.
