Exhibit Opportunity at Gallery4Culture for 2013-2014 Season: Applications due January 6

Exhibition proposals are being accepted for Gallery4Culture’s 2014-2015 season running September, 2014 through August, 2015. Gallery4Culture is a respected venue showcasing up-and-coming to mid-career studio artists working in a broad range of contemporary media.

This opportunity presents the possibility of a month-long exhibition in a well-traveled, street-level gallery in the heart of the Pioneer Square, Seattle’s vibrant gallery district. Eligibility is restricted to studio artists, artist teams and independent curators residing in King County, WA. Members of artist-run cooperatives and collectives are eligible to apply, but applicants may not be represented by a commercial gallery at the time of application. This opportunity usually garners a broad range of applicants working in diverse media and methods of contemporary art.

A selection panel made-up of regional arts professionals will select eleven finalists who will be awarded shows. Since the Panel composition changes every year, applicants from previous years are encouraged to reapply. Artists who have been awarded exhibits at the gallery are restricted from reapplying for a period of four years from their previous application.

The application checklist and a link to the application can be found at 4culture.org/apply. All applications must be complete and submitted by the deadline: 5:00 PM on Monday, January 6, 2014.

The online application requires the following materials: artist résumé, proposal statement and work samples with descriptions. Finalists will be selected based on the quality of their work, strength of the proposal and confidence in their ability to realize it. Cultural and geographic diversity will be factors in the selection process.

It is our intention to continue to support and present a rich range of contemporary approaches to art-making at Gallery4Culture. Previous exhibitions can be viewed at: galleries.4culture.org/portfolio.
