Two artworks by Ellen Sollod, who helped to develop to the Brightwater art plan, illuminate water treatment processes and celebrate the role of science in the facility using microbial forms made with glass.

Installed on the exterior of the building near the Northeast Plaza, Collection and Transformation creates a reflective environment that references the scientific and natural processes of cleaning wastewater. Two sections juxtapose laboratory glass with blown glass in the shape of stylized micro-organisms; together with lighting they create a jewel-like meditation on the scientific investigation, collection, and transformation of water.
