Help Me Find a Grant

To help meet the needs of King County’s diverse cultural sector, we offer many types of funding and support! Here’s a quick guide to help you get started.

What 4Culture funds

Individuals and Organizations

Some of our grants are open to individual people, while others support groups, nonprofits, and Tribes. Some grants, like Projects, are open to both.

Type of Project

Our programs are tailored to the work you’re doing. The main categories we use are projects, buildings and equipment, operating support, and artist calls.

Discipline

Culture takes many forms! See the list of funding areas below, and don’t worry if you’re not sure where you fit–most of our grants are interdisciplinary.

Disciplines

Arts

Supporting artists and artistic groups across disciplines, such as dance, spoken word, visual art, and more.

Heritage

Documenting, interpreting, and preserving local history, culture, folklore, and historic materials.

Historic Preservation

Protecting and restoring historic sites, structures, and landmarks.

Science and Technology

Supporting individuals and organizations that bring science and technology experiences to the public.

Public Art

Commissioning and installing art in public spaces, stewarding King County’s collection of public art, and consulting on public art projects.
