A kaleidoscopic mural offers an immersive experience on the Burke-Gilman Trail.

Once a dark and dreary concrete passageway, the 230-foot Wayne Tunnel on the Burke-Gilman Trail now radiates with color and light, brought to life by Ebb & Flow, an immersive mural by Kristen Ramirez. Responding to the architecture of the tunnel, she playfully transformed the space with bright yellows, oranges, pinks, purples, and symbols of regional flora and fauna. Each year, some 2 million people travel through the bustling Bothell tunnel, which passes under 96th Avenue NE.
