Hello 4Culture: Year in Review
This year marked an exciting milestone as we relaunched Hello 4Culture at the end of 2024 and stepped fully into reconnecting with communities across King County since the pandemic.
Our focus has been on rebuilding relationships, supporting creative projects, and centering those who have been historically underserved by cultural funding and public art opportunities.
Highlights of 2025:
- 3 Open Houses hosted in Redmond, SeaTac, and Federal Way engaging in conversations
- BIPOC Art Swap in the International District organized to celebrate and bring together community artists
- 20+ tabling events participated in, connecting with neighbors and spreading the word about 4Culture grants and artist opportunities
- 6 Office Hours held in Redmond to provide one-on-one support and dialogue with artists and cultural workers. Centro Cultural Mexicano,
- 4 collaborations with community organizations to host Hello events.
We couldn’t have done this without the amazing efforts of our fellow 4Culture staff, who showed up to present, answer questions, and connect with community members face-to-face. We also extend a warm thank you to our partners—Centro Cultural Mexicano, Friends of Little Saigon, Federal Way Performing Arts Center, the Roadhouse, and African Community and Housing Development—for opening your doors and welcoming Hello into your neighborhoods.
Looking Ahead to 2026:
As we continue building momentum, we’re excited to grow in areas that matter most to our communities, including:
- Creating commitments to language access pushes us to define it—even if imperfectly—ensuring people can engage with 4Culture in the languages they use. We know this definition will continue to grow and change, but naming it now helps us build more accessible ways for the communities we serve!
- Deepening partnerships with community leaders and organizations to host meaningful, impactful events.
- Continuing to show up where people are—at festivals, markets, and local gathering spaces—so we can listen, learn, and support.
