Seattle

Do you remember what this place looked like before you called it your own

The tangle of streets
The shock of mountains
when they were no longer smudged into the sky

How wide the intersections felt
even on corners where no cranes landed

Where wooden walls replaced views of grass and good coffee

a man’s face the size of a building
screaming out color
