Arts prescribing is an evidence-based approach that connects individuals to non-clinical, community-based cultural experiences. Research shows that engaging in arts and culture has protective and therapeutic benefits on individuals’ mental health, sense of belonging, and resilience.

The Washington State Arts Prescribing Initiative is a statewide effort to bring social prescribing to our state led by ArtsWA, Path with Art, and SocialRx, a nationally-recognized leader in arts-based social prescribing. The goal is to build an ecosystem of healthcare, higher education, and arts-based community partners across Washington, and establishing a robust network of arts and culture partners is the first step.

Benefits of becoming a community partner in Washington State:

  • New, paying patrons and promotion of programming to new audiences.
  • No additional costs: there is no cost to join, and it incorporates what you already have on offer.
  • Recognition as a community destination with benefits to individual well-being and public health.
  • Access to evidenced based trauma-informed arts practice training at no cost.

Does your organization have creative or cultural programs that are open to the public?
We invite you to join an informational webinar hosted by Path with Art and SocialRx on Thursday, October 29, 12:00-1:00 pm PT to learn more about how to get involved.
