The Cornish Arts Incubator is a residency program that offers space and staff support at the Cornish Playhouse Alhadeff Studio for Washington-based artists to explore collaborations with forms or disciplines other than their primary art practice. During the three-week residency, artists are asked to hold two public presentations of either final works or works in progress.

Selection will be conducted by a committee of faculty and staff and evaluated based on the following criteria:

Innovation, creativity, and risk taking: The residency is primarily intended to generate new and novel work, and to promote artistic endeavors that might not be possible without the opportunity.

Cross-disciplinary collaboration: The proposal should provide details about how and why cross-disciplinary work is essential for the project to be undertaken. Note that both disciplines do not need to be established art practices.

Status of the project: The residency is not intended for the presentation of completed work, and thus projects must be in the early stages of their genesis.

Readiness to engage with and benefit from the experience: While the project should be in early development and will not need to be completed by the end of the residency, the proposal should promote confidence that participants will make substantive progress.

Potential for impact: The proposal should describe potential ways to expand creative practice in Seattle or the greater Washington community
