Executive Director

The Eastside Heritage Center has an opening for an Executive Director. This position provides day-to-day leadership of the organization and its staff, under the direction of the Board of Trustees. Recent changes in the scope of EHCs activities have resulted in the shift of this position to part-time. There is potential to expand the position to full-time in the future.

Leadership:
Develop and oversee program, organizational and financial plans.
Supervise staff
Serve as the public face and liaison with community partners.
Maintain a working knowledge of the heritage field.

Development and communications:
In partnership with the board, develop and implement contributed revenue programs, including memberships, contributions, sponsorships, and grants.
Maintain positive member and donor relations.
Ensure that EHC presents a strong public image.

Programming:
Work with the Collections Manager to develop and execute a collection management strategy.
Oversee program planning and implementation.
Solicit active and broad participation by volunteers.
Develop new earned income opportunities that generate revenue while fulfilling the organization’s mission.

Eligibility
Required:
Bachelor’s degree
Five years’ work experience
Experience with financial management
Supervisory/teamwork experience
Strong communications skills

Preferred:
Experience as primary leader of an organization
Employment and/or volunteer service with non profits
Background in history, museums or cultural fields
Fundraising experience
Familiarity with East King County
