Eligibility: Global Majority persons: - whether they be low-income, english language-learners, tribal neighbors and/ or Black and Brown, across King County; - whether interested in being on Shared-Land at Small Axe Farm, - and/ or already situated on Land with Aligned Community Partners, P-Patch Spaces, or Private Yards An eligibility requirement is that you are a producer to community; not just growing for personal consumption.
We’re on a mission to REIMAGINE a food system, designed and led by the {Global Majority} by developing a cooperative network of food system actors, acquiring and stewarding land, facilitating food system education, and creating space for liberation in healing and joy.
The Land Steward + Incubator Program is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of Land Stewards (Partners) that identify as Global-Majority persons; whether they be low-income, english language-learners, tribal neighbors and/ or Black and Brown. Land Stewards (Partners) will develop hands-on training, mentorship, collective learning, resources for skill development and business growth. We aim to create a supportive environment that empowers beginning farmers to cultivate their passion for agriculture, build sustainable businesses, and contribute to a resilient Black-led food system. We ALSO offer a small quarterly stipend – an Universal Basic Income (UBI) – for their contribution towards supporting an Ecosystem of BIPOC Farmers Across King County.
