Artists 25+ in any medium are invited to join Souls Shot Portrait Project. Artists are paired with a family member or friend of someone lost to gun violence, and create a portrait that reflects their loved one’s essence in their own style. Accepted artists will be featured in upcoming exhibitions, using art as a powerful act of remembrance and change.
For nearly 10 years, the Souls Shot Portrait Project has paired artists with families of gun violence victims to create portraits that honor their loved ones and confront the epidemic of gun violence. Founded in Philadelphia and now active across the Northeast, the project is laying the groundwork to launch an exhibition in WA featuring local artists and lives lost in this community. We are hopeful the touring exhibit will open in its first location in late 2026.
*Please note, the call is open to non-Washington based artists as well.
