Cultural Center Design & Implementation Contractor
Part-time, 15 hrs/week | Contract Term: Sept 2026–Feb 2027 | Anticipated Start: September 8, 2026 | Seattle, WA (Lake City)
Refugee Artisan Initiative (RAI) partners with refugee and immigrant women to build economic stability through artisan skills and microbusiness training. We’re seeking a contractor to lead a community-centered design process for our new Cultural Center, resulting in two exhibits (one permanent, one rotating) plus multilingual interpretive materials, retail displays, and educational programming.
Key Responsibilities:
Gather community input and draft a Visitor Experience Statement
Design a full content outline and visual map for exhibits/galleries
Coordinate equipment, translation, and multilingual documentation
Facilitate community design workshops and open houses
Position artisans as key decision-makers in approving final exhibit designs
Identify 3–5 local refugee/immigrant artists for retail display
Launch exhibits, establish public visiting hours, and support the opening celebration
Build a feedback system and deliver a blueprint for future programming
